Samuel Woodson Venable (HSC Class of 1842); photostat of part of a letter written by Samuel Woodson Venable with explanatory note regarding the other part of the letter and the whereabouts of the original. Recipient of the letter: David Witherspoon. Samuel Woodson Venable was a son of Nathaniel Venable of “Slate Hill.”
