1. William S. Morton. Notes from old court papers, Cumberland County, 1783, sent by Mrs. Morton, November 23, 1950. 2. Richard N. Venable (HSC Class of 1783); newspaper article on the diary of Richard N. Venable who is the son of Nathaniel Venable. Their office at “Slate Hill” was “the birthplace” of HSC. Diary covers the period February 1791 - November 1792.
